Learn Russian™ App Reviews

Ive only had the app 3 days, so I am unable to review the apps long term learning value. But, my first impression is very good! In that time, I have learned to count to 10 and greet people. There are, however, a few things that (in my opinion) could make this app perfect: (1) The audible feature is great, but sometimes its difficult to discern the difference between consonants in the spoken words ("d" and "t", for example sound very close). It would be helpful to provide a written phonetic pronunciation along with the Cyrillic spelling of the Russian words. (2) Having an alphabet section to go through the sounds of the Cyrillic alphabet would be helpful and make it easier to "sound out" Russian words. (3) I was unable to find any kind of "getting started" or "help" section within the app. While I did figure out things on my own, this feature could be useful--particularly to new users. (4) I wish there was a way to listen to the app while walking or driving. (As far as I can tell, all the features require "touch input.") (5) Please dont have the "please review our app" window pop up every time you open the app. To make it stop, I am now reviewing this app after only using it for 3 days. I did find the "games" to be a fun and an easy way to become familiar with the vocabulary and phrases and the categories are pretty inclusive. All in all, a great app--especially for the price! NOTE: Again, I have only had the app for a couple of days, so these are just my initial opinions.

This app is great for learning vocabulary, but in order to help people learn Russian easier I recommended there be a part in this app on learning the Russian Cyrillic alphabet! ^^

Wish there was a way to search for words, and if things were alphabetical. Love that there is a way to record what you sound like and even match it against what the recorded voice sounds. Its a pretty good app, just needs to be able to search. I am amazed that I cant find how to say "thank you."

Im giving 2 stars because I have no idea about what the app can do. I was prompted to give a rating in the first 5 seconds. I dont like being asked to rate something Ive not had experience with before, however I dont think giving this app a totally bad rating because of that is fair. I will come back and give a rating when Ive actually used this app and can give a proper educated opinion.
